Upgrade At Carib Glassworks Limited

In 2007, CGL undertook an expansive upgrade on one of its manufacturing plants. This upgrade, which lasted 4 months, cost approximately USD 20M. The upgrade included a new recuperative furnace, 2 new and 1 upgraded bottle forming machine, inline inspection and fully automated packaging. As a result, bottle making capacity increased by 18%.

Bulk Palletization will now be done automatically with pallet removal being done by a shuttle car
Shuttle Car.

Strapping and shrinking wrapping completes the manufacturing cycle. Glass recycling was also targeted for improvement with a state of the art crushing system. With this upgrade, CGL’s ability to meet customer needs has improved significantly from the perspective of superior quality and on-time delivery.

After recent audits completed at the end of May 2008, the Quality Management System of Carib Glassworks Limited was successfully registered by UL® (Underwriters Laboratories) to the ISO 9001 Standard.

Our scope of registration covers the design and manufacture of glass bottles for commercial packaging and bottling.
